Interior design is my second act. For as long as I can remember, I have loved beautiful homes. I love to study them. I love to visit them. I love all of the feelings that they evoke. But a professional opportunity for my husband required that I leave a rewarding corporate career and move to a new city. With a new home to build and time to devote to good design on a budget, I discovered my second act. I began working for one builder then several. I learned the “sticks and bricks” of homebuilding. That evolved into helping families with the interior of their new home.
Twenty years later, Laura Burbrink Designs now helps homeowners and small businesses incorporate all of their plans, pictures, hopes and dreams into beautiful new spaces, being mindful that a lifetime of memories will be made in these new spaces.
The most rewarding part of any project is when a homeowner says, “This feels like home!” or a business owner says, “This is exactly what we needed!”

Some basic principles I use in my designs...
-
A design should be a reflection of the tastes and objectives of the homeowner or business owner, not mine.
-
A design must fit how a family really lives or a business really works, not what looks best in a social media post.
-
A design should incorporate the best of today’s design trends while staying true to the classics.
-
Strive to make “current” and “timeless” live in the same space.
-
Respect the budget of a project and provide solid guidance about the best areas to concentrate spending.
